About the exam
What the GMAT program is, and why it matters
Awarded by GMAC. Internationally recognised, evidence-driven, and the standard credential for the role.
The GMAT Focus Edition, administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), is the standardised exam used by most top MBA and graduate business programs worldwide. The Focus Edition replaced the classic GMAT entirely on 1 February 2024 — it is shorter (2 hours 15 minutes), removes Sentence Correction, removes the Analytical Writing Assessment, and elevates Data Insights to a co-equal third section.
Focus Edition has three sections: Quantitative Reasoning (21 questions, 45 minutes), Verbal Reasoning (23 questions, 45 minutes), and Data Insights (20 questions, 45 minutes). All sections are computer-adaptive at the item level. The total score ranges from 205 to 805 in 10-point increments and is built from all three sections weighted equally.
The biggest preparation pitfalls are still teaching to the retired exam (Sentence Correction drills, AWA practice), under-weighting Data Insights, and using older mock tests calibrated to the legacy scoring. Omni Finance Academy was built from the ground up for Focus Edition: Data Insights is treated as a first-class section, mocks use GMAC’s published scoring, and section-review tooling trains you on the three-question per-section review feature unique to the Focus interface.
Why Omni Finance Academy for GMAT
Built for the way GMAT candidates actually study
01
Built for Focus Edition, not the old GMAT
Data Insights is taught with the same depth as Quant. Sentence Correction is removed. Pace and scoring reflect the new format.
02
Adaptive at the sub-skill level
When you get a Critical Reasoning Boldface question wrong, the next session targets Boldface — not generic CR.
03
Honest score forecasting
Mock-exam scoring uses GMAC’s published Focus Edition scaling. No inflated practice-test scores to keep you happy.
04
Section-review tooling
Focus Edition allows three question reviews and edits per section. We train you on which questions are worth revisiting and which are not.
