Treating average question time as an official cutoff

A total-time divided by item-count average is a planning reference, not automatically an exam rule for each item.

Read the original practice calculation

A hypothetical block has 100 questions and 240 minutes. The whole-block arithmetic average is 2.4 minutes per question. That calculation alone contains no instruction about when a particular question must be abandoned.

Keep different tasks visible

A calculation, short recall item and vignette-supported decision can take different amounts of time. A chosen review reserve further changes the answering allocation. Treating every item as identical can hide that variation.

Choose a correction based on the cause

Use actual practice records to identify whether time is lost in reading, method selection, calculation or navigation. A mechanical cutoff is not a substitute for that learning diagnosis.
