Option-payoff and replication checklist

A valid option explanation keeps contract payoff, position settlement, cost and current valuation as separate objects.

Check the contract inputs

Name the option type, side, underlying, strike, expiry and units. For combinations, verify matching dates and quantity. Mark any exercise or settlement feature outside the supplied expiry model.

Review checks
LayerQuestion
Holder payoffCorrect subtraction and zero floor?
Position amountLong/short sign and unit quantity?
PremiumPaid or received, on which date?
Simple profitIs funding deliberately omitted?
Current parityCompatible exercise/income conditions and KD?

Test more than one region

Use below-strike, at-strike and above-strike values. Check premium-adjusted crossings and the algebra beyond a finite chart. For a replication, compare both package expressions in every relevant region.

Keep the result conditional

The calculation does not provide a current option valuation, forecast, margin amount or investment recommendation. The original scenarios and chart ranges are educational inputs. Current official errata should be checked when using curriculum diagrams or labels.
