Reconcile the transaction boundary, common basis, value components and timing before accepting a performance statement.

Identify the measurement population

Name the fund or investor interests, cutoff date, currency, cost method and applicable adjustments. Confirm that all three multiple inputs share that basis. Distinguish committed from paid-in capital.

Trace movements to their source

Separate contributions, distributions, valuation marks and other adjustments. A contribution can dilute a ratio without creating a loss; a realization can change composition without changing total value under a stated case. Check actual event assumptions.

Keep missing data and liquidity visible

Unknown residual is not zero. Residual value is not available cash. A terminal cash surplus may hide an earlier call shortfall. The reconciled arithmetic does not certify a valuation, official reporting compliance or investment suitability.
