CFA Level III mixed-format rehearsal

A mixed rehearsal can distinguish case reading, response planning and numerical work without treating one format as a separate whole session.

Choose an original mixed set

Use a selected-response case and a short written-response case with known solutions or explicit discussion criteria. Keep the question source and your own selected duration in the record. Do not label an Academy teaching example as an official mock.

Read for the requested facts

Before solving, identify what the prompt asks and which vignette facts matter. Avoid filling a written answer with every concept you remember. For selected response, explain why the competing choices differ under the facts.

Retain a concise answer plan

Draft the conclusion, relevant evidence and required reasoning or calculation. The command/evidence log supports an original rehearsal. It does not prescribe CFA Institute’s scoring rules or guarantee partial credit.

Review switching costs separately

Record time spent rereading, moving between tasks, planning an answer and checking arithmetic. A high total time can have more than one cause. Return to the slow layer before conducting the next mixed block.
