Keep both currency names or units
The CSV uses fictional domestic and foreign units with quotes 7.8 and 7.41 domestic per foreign. Columns identify local start and end wealth, quote direction, converted amounts and the local income treatment. The unit labels are part of the numerical record.
Record a transformed source quote
If a source uses foreign per domestic, retain the source number and a separate reciprocal conversion. Do not overwrite it with a negated rate. This makes the input direction reviewable before applying the growth-factor formula.
Compare endpoint and component calculations
Compute domestic starting and ending wealth directly. Then compare their ratio with the local factor multiplied by the quote ratio. A disagreement can reveal mixed directions, periods or income treatment.
Keep omitted costs visible
The sample includes no hedge, fee, spread or tax. Real quoted conversion prices can depend on the actual transaction side and date. Add those records when needed rather than assuming the teaching midpoint-like inputs are executable rates.
