Locate a peak shortfall before a distribution

Starting cash 30, a call 40 and distribution 20 end at 10, but event order changes the interim funding need.

Evaluate the call-first path

If the call occurs first, cash moves 30→−10→10. Meeting the call needs a separate 10 of timely funding under the case’s assumption that no other liquid source is already available. The terminal surplus does not erase this earlier need.

Reverse only the dates

If the distribution occurs first, the path is 30→50→10. No negative point occurs. The amounts and terminal cash are unchanged; the event order changes the liquidity condition.

Retain receipt assumptions

Both paths treat the 20 distribution as a supplied event. A planning case should also investigate delayed or smaller receipts where relevant. A distribution expectation is not cash already on hand.

Report the conditional funding result

The schedule identifies a maximum unfinanced shortfall for its inputs. It does not establish an available lending facility or recommend a particular funding decision. Add any remedy and its costs explicitly before claiming the plan can be executed.
