Scope category versus quality assessment

A scope label and a quality judgment describe different dimensions of an emissions record.

Read what the category supplies

A category identifies how a source is covered under the chosen reporting method. It does not disclose whether activity was measured, estimated or missing, or whether the factor matched the intended period.

Avoid losing uncertain components inside a subtotal

A category total can mix records of different quality. Keep coverage and status information when the analysis depends on those components. An exact sum of inputs does not make the inputs independently verified.

State a specific finding

A useful review explains which field or source is uncertain. It does not simply assume all Scope 3 is unusable or all Scope 1 is precise.
