Read the scenario date
The original examples evaluate a single named expiry T. They use a supplied terminal price and cash-equivalent payoff expression. No earlier decision date is modeled.
Keep the missing contract features visible
European and American exercise features are not interchangeable in a current-value equality. An early-exercise or assignment question needs the actual exercise permissions, dates and other contract facts. A terminal diagram alone does not answer it.
Separate the fields
| Field | Role |
|---|---|
| Expiry T | Date used by the terminal formula |
| Exercise style | Permitted exercise opportunities |
| Settlement specification | How obligations are discharged |
| Premium date | Cost timing for the position |
Interpret a held-to-expiry calculation accurately
A simple terminal calculation can remain useful for understanding a payoff even when a real contract has more features. State the boundary instead of presenting it as a complete exercise recommendation or pre-expiry valuation.
