CAIA curriculum edition and exam-cycle matching

CAIA says its curriculum editions are valid for the calendar year of the exam, covering that year’s March and September cycles.

Use the exam’s calendar year

For a 2027 exam, use the official 2027 edition and companion. CAIA’s current study-tools page explains that the next calendar year’s curriculum becomes available each October. Registration or purchase date alone is not the tested-year label.

Separate foundations from tested coverage

A prior note can still help explain an unchanged concept, but that does not make it a complete current syllabus. Compare the official outline and reconcile changed material rather than copying the old folder into a new year label.

Check another provider’s actual scope

Inspect which edition, level and topics a preparation service supports before relying on it. The Academy’s free resources explain selected tasks and do not claim CAIA endorsement or full official curriculum replacement.

Keep the plan attached to the source

Use the edition checklist to record gaps and updates. When a source changes, revise the affected note and its learning links; do not preserve an incorrect fact simply because it appeared in an earlier study pack.
