Use the US CFP Board route

This guide concerns CFP Board’s US certification examination. It does not describe the Hong Kong IFPHK examination route or provide a personal tax calculation. A shared CFP name does not make regional examination rules interchangeable.

Avoid a calendar-year shortcut

Not every 2026 administration uses the same tax year. Use the current window-specific table and linked exam materials. A downloaded older handbook appendix can lag the current page; retain the source and intended window in the study record.

Keep assumptions explicit in worked questions

Before practicing a US tax-related problem, record the tested year and supplied assumptions. A correct method applied to another year’s limits can produce an inapplicable answer. The source checklist helps detect that mismatch before reviewing numerical steps.

Recheck an unlisted administration

The inspected board table lists the three 2026 administrations above. Do not infer a 2027 tested-year rule from their pattern. Use CFP Board’s updated table when your intended administration is listed.
