Name whose amounts are included
A fund-wide total and one investor’s statement are different populations. A percentage ownership does not automatically reproduce an investor record when entry dates, fees or terms differ. Keep population identifiers beside the three input amounts.
Treat gross and net as defined methods
A label such as gross does not identify every included cash flow. Read the actual fee, expense, carry and financing treatment, and distinguish fund-to-investor from fund-to-investment amounts. The ILPA hub provides different reporting methodologies; this page does not collapse them into one universal adjustment.
Complete a basis checklist
| Field | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| Population | Which fund or investor interests |
| Currency | One comparable measurement currency |
| Date | Same cumulative cutoff and residual date |
| Costs | Explicit included/excluded items |
| Recallables | Stated treatment and later re-calls |
Explain differences before ranking
If two reports differ in these fields, retain the discrepancy rather than treating a higher ratio as proof of superior performance. A numerical reconciliation can identify an input difference, but changing the label alone cannot make the records comparable.
