Covariance to risk contribution study sequence

Build one model, explain its outputs and test its boundary cases before changing the assumptions.

Begin with compatible definitions

Record the common return period, income/currency basis, weights and estimation status. Convert correlation to covariance only after the dispersions share a basis. Use the input worksheet to retain unresolved source questions.

Construct the variance calculation

Complete the own terms and two covariance products, then take the square root. Reproduce the result using squared-unit and return-scale labels. If those conversions disagree, resolve the units before reading the curve.

Add baselines and risk layers

Progression checks
TaskEvidence of understanding
Variance bridgeAll three terms and units reconcile
DiversificationComparator explicitly named
Euler componentsWeight applied after marginal risk
Boundary casesZero and signed outputs explained
Joint matrixPair bounds distinguished from coherence

Use errors to choose the next task

Attempt the two practice sets, retain the reason for any wrong answer and revisit the corresponding example. No universal study-hour allocation or pass prediction follows from completing this sequence. Move to a new estimation record only after you can explain the present model.
