The demonstration defaults are fictional. Enter a sourced factor matching your geography, period and inventory boundary; the tool converts units and does not validate factor eligibility.

Enter a factor with its actual units
Set the activity amount and choose kWh or MWh. Enter the factor and choose its numerator mass and energy denominator. The tool does not find a current country or utility factor for you.
Inspect the fictional default
12,000 kWh with the fictional factor 0.4 kg CO2e/kWh yields 4,800 kg CO2e or 4.8 metric tonnes. Entering 12 MWh and 400 kg CO2e/MWh produces the same amount.
Check factor suitability separately
Use a factor source matching the relevant geography, period, gases, stages and method. An eligible unit combination does not establish an eligible inventory factor or classification. Keep the factor-source log beside the result.
Retain small nonzero results
The tool shows scientific notation for sufficiently small nonzero outputs. It does not turn missing activity or a blank factor into zero. A zero result follows only from the entered numerical model, not a certification that an operation has no impact.
